The following is posted by Sara for Dr. Eick:
As soon as you create your account, and begin to follow your class blog, please create your first blog post with your first name, your major, and your e-mail address. You will need to do this so I know that you have activated your account, understand how to create an account, and so that I will be able to follow your account.

Welcome to MEDUC 501!
Semester Long Blogging Assignment
As you enter our teacher education program and eventually find employment as a certified teacher, you will be asked to work with different types of technology. It is my intention to integrate the use of different technologies into our course work to help you become familiar with the use of technology and at ease with its integration in instruction.
While you are already required to navigate blackboard for our various course assignments, I would like you to practice also writing blogs (http://www.blogger.com/.) Be creative and have fun with this assignment! You are required to post a total of three blogs during the semester and to respond at least once to your classmates' blogs. Write on any topic that we discuss in class. I strongly encourage you to share your personal reactions to these topics! There is no due date for each blog or responses to classmates' blogs. However, it is important to remember that you must have at least three blogs completed by the end of the semester, and you must have commented at least once on your classmates' blogs as well.
The grade for this assignment is part of your participation grade. It will be based on your completion of the three blogs by the end of the semester, and your response (at least one) to classmates' blogs. Following online discussion protocol while blogging is essential! Your blog will be monitored by our Graduate Assistant and by our IT administrators, and offensive or inappropriate language will result in an F for your entire participation grade.
A= all blogs completed and more than two comments
B= all blogs completed and two comments
C= 2 blogs completed and one comment
D= 0 blogs completed, no comments.
Sara Carchidi, graduate assistant to the department of education in the School of Education and Human Services, will be monitoring this blog along with me.
Please feel free to be creative with your blogs within the boundaries of protocol. Remember that your blog is public and you are beginning a professional career. One last note, you must use your full name when creating your username. If you fail to do so, I will not be able to credit your work.
If you have any problems creating your blog, please contact Sara, our graduate assistant, at sacarchidi@email.msmary.edu or look over this blogger tutorial.
